Oliver Swain's Holiday Social featuring Glenna Garramone & Ivonne Hernandez: Songs of Joy & Peace

 —  —

Hermann's Jazz Club, 753 View Street, Victoria, British Columbia

I'm excited to be sharing the stage with these wonderfully talented musicians to perform a variety of songs with the theme of Joy and Peace (original and cover songs), and some seasonal tunes.

Ivonne Hernandez has won pretty much every award she is eligible for including the Grand North American Fiddle Championship (5 times), JUNO Award, Western Canadian Music Award (2 times), Canadian Folk Music Award (2 times). She performs with Oliver Swain in the progressive Celtic group Wayfaring Kind and Bluegrass band Lester, Cobb, Hernandez & Swain.

Juno & WCMA nominated Americana Folk Noir musician Oliver Swain spent a dozen years in some of North America's most loved roots bands (Outlaw Social, The Duhks, The Bills) before going solo and releasing In a BIG MACHINE in 2011 to rave reviews, #1 spots on the charts, sold out shows and festival appearances across western Canada. He collaborates with a wide range of performers in many genres.

All public health orders will be followed, proof of vaccination and mask required for entry to the venue.

More about Belle Plaine:

Belle Plaine is an acoustic-guitar playing, storytelling vocalist whose debut full-length album, Notes From A Waitress, reached #3 on the !earshot National Jazz Chart. Describing the album, Belle Plains says, “I wanted the songs to read as a travelogue from the other side of the world and back. They’re like souvenirs from each journey. It’s my throwback to the vocal jazz of the 1960s. Think of Peggy Lee and Julie London. I created Notes From A Waitress in the spirit of these artists.”   www.belleplainemusic.com/
