The Pandora Chorus
Wednesday, March 18 rehearsal POSTPONED! We will convene online instead!
If you have been following the news, you may have already heard that the provincial health authorities are asking people to cancel any gatherings with more than 50 people. So while I will very much miss singing with you this Wednesday, I believe that postponing our usual rehearsals is the best way to contribute to slowing down the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Please see my email for details- I will be offering an online rehearsal.
My hope is that we can get back to safely gathering together as a group in a couple of weeks, but of course I have no way of knowing if this will be the case.
Let's keep singing through these wild times, and find ways to connect with one another even if we can't meet face to face.
Sending you all warmth!
The Pandora Chorus is a non-auditioned indie pop rock choir in Victoria, BC, Canada. No previous choir experience necessary to join us! Most songs are learned by ear. Interested in joining The Pandora Chorus?
The next session runs for 15 weeks, on Wednesdays, starting January 15, 2020.
We are currently at capacity for registration for our Winter Session 2020, but we've reserved 6 more spots for Bass/Baritone and Tenor singers with male voices. If you are a person with a male voice and would like to join us, please contact us to claim one of these spots. Bursaries are available to help cover up to 50% of the registration fees for these reserved spots, for those facing financial barriers. If you sing in the Alto or Soprano range and are interested in joining us, you can send us a message to be added to the wait list for the Winter Session. Use this online form, or email us at thepandorachorus (at) gmail.com.
Thanks for your interest in joining The Pandora Chorus, we hope to sing with you soon!
Winter Weather update:
In previous years, we used these guidelines to determine whether or not to go ahead with rehearsals on a snowy day: if schools are closed, and/or Environment Canada has issued an official weather warning, and/or if roads are especially icy and treacherous, and/or if local police have asked people to stay off the roads if possible, then rehearsals are cancelled so as to not endanger any of us. When a rehearsal gets cancelled, I offer a make-up rehearsal later on in the session. I will always send out an email to confirm a cancelled rehearsal on the night of the rehearsal, and post on the website, and The Pandora Chorus Facebook Page by 5:30pm. If you don't see a cancellation message, then rehearsal is a-go!
